Action Composites and Porsche jointly win JEC World Innovation Award 2023 for pioneering lightweight technology.
The prize was awarded for the development of the world’s first carbon roll cage. In the future, this will be installed as an option in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
This award is the result of long research and development work by Action Composites and Porsche. The carbon fiber roll cage is a milestone in the automotive industry and offers an excellent balance between safety and weight savings. The roll cage was built using the typological approach. Put simply, this means that exactly as much material as necessary is used at each point of the component.
The award is further confirmation of Action Composites’ leading global position in the automotive sector. The company already received a JEC World Innovation Award in 2014 and 2016, and a JEC Asia Innovation Award in 2018.
